Introduction

My name is Arjun Tyagi and I am currently working as a Pre-Doctoral Research Scholar at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), focusing on the intersection of circuit design and architecture. My research interests include efficient processing-in-memory (PIM) design, novel computer architectures, and emerging memory technologies. I graduated from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani in 2023 with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) majoring in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.

I strongly advocate the idea of broadening one’s understanding across various layers of abstraction, ranging from device technology and circuit designs to architectural concepts, system support, and more. For someone in the field of computer architecture like myself, it’s essential to grasp the limitations and functionalities of diverse domains when crafting a novel computer system. In pursuit of this goal, I’ve had the privilege of working with some leading professors and researchers like Prof. Shahar Kvatinsky, Prof. Saugata Ghose and others throughout my Bachelor’s journey.

You can check out my past projects on a wide range of subjects such as reinforcement learning, emerging memory technology, processing-in-memory and neuromorphic computing.
